ACE scores can be linked to problems in adult life, from physical health to mental health to problems in forming and maintaining relationships. They can act as an important guideline to both mental health professionals and patients, not only by helping to explain lingering hurtful or damaging behaviour, but also by providing opportunities for healing from past trauma.
